  1. Key Concepts

Segments

Segments allows customers to be grouped based on matching specific event criteria, for example:

  • A specific level of lifetime spend

  • Purchase of specific products

  • Repeat purchases

Segments can be used to support concepts such as:

  • A customer profile group

  • An identified specific interest

  • Membership Levels (VIP)

  • Eligibility for a specific offer

Segments are configured in the Segments manager within the TallyMark's console and have the following properties:

Name

A name for the segment.

Description

A description for the segment

Segment Expiry Configuration

Segment membership can be configured to automatically expired based on several modes of operation:

None

Segment membership does NOT expire

Until Anniversary Date

Membership of the segment expires at the Customer's next anniversary date

Until Anniversary Date plus 1 year

Membership of the segment expires at the Customer's anniversary date plus 1 year. For example, if a customer's join date is 31 May 2020 (making their anniversary date 31 May) and they are added to the list on 23 December 2020, they will remain a member of this segment until 31 May 2022.

Specified Period

For a specified period in days, months or years - to a maximum of 5 years.

Specified Date

Until a specifed date to a maximum of 5 years.

A status:

Configure

A segment that is in the process of being initially configured.

Test

A segment that is configured, available for testing but not Active

Active

An active rule that is being used to by a rule.

Inactive

An Inactive rule. Once a rule has been made in active is cannot be made Active again.

Archived

An Archived rule that is in a read only state.
